Nervous energy!

Ok, I've been trying not to do too much since I'm cut back on my medication until surgery, but geez, what a lot of nervous energy. I started some socks last night with Tofutsies yarn that I've had laying arouond since last spring. Ahhhhhhhh! I hate the waiting. Larry being away all this week isn't helping, but what are ya gonna do. Hmmm, let's just see what projects I can complete!! LOL

OTN

OTN: Wristlets with Noro Silk Garden; Garter Rib Sweater (Summit Hill Cornflower Blue color); throw (Suri Alpaca from KnitPicks); throw (Lion Homespun) . I'm sure I'll find something else to start before the holidays. Can you say, "Yarn ADHD?!"

Dem Crazy Nurses!!

Whoever said that nurses knew how to party must've been spying on those SLH L&D nurses!! Here we are on one of our seasonal "Girl's Night Out" parties. Last week they all took me out to dinner to Olive Garden--what a blast we had. It's been difficult to get together due to our health issues: Denise's cancer, Duby & Janis's bunion surgery, Kath's mutilated foot, & Marie's diabetic baby...sheesh!! They're a great bunch of girls...I love 'em!! Next party planned for February '08!!

Surgery's a comin'

Okay, I suppose in 7 days, this will be me after my spinal fusion next Monday...a sick pup in bed knitting (hopefully I'll feel well enough for that - I have many X-mas gifts to finish)!! I'm getting nervous now . Hopefully, I'll be back to my ol' self soon.

Craft Show a bust.

Welp, the Craft Show was a bust. I sold my Ebony & Ivory Alpaca Scarf. My prices were definitely low, but still higher compared to the other crafts there, and obviously higher than people wanted to pay! It was a learning experience in that hand knit items just aren't profitable. I'd heard it all before, but just had to see it for myself. 'Nuff said.

In the meantime, our Knit Club is slowly breaking up because people are moving. We'll miss you Katie & Susan. Keep in touch!! Jules....PLEASE don't leave me!! Ahhhhhhh.

OTN: X-mas gifts: Mom: Garter Ridge Cardi in beautiful Cornflower Blue Summit Hill (YUM); Amy: Homespun Throw; Me: Hat with Noro Silk Garden (beauteous); Stef: Leg Warmers using charcoal Tatamy Tweed (lovely)

Pink Cabled Summer Bag

Here's Susan modeling my pink/tan cable bag. The flap isn't felted & is made with cotton. The pattern is from Elann.com. I accessorized it with some "beachy" charms. The handled is made by braiding both felted & cotton strands together. I was happy with the results...cute bag!

Ladybug Hoodie Cardigan

Here is the baby hoodie cardigan sweater I made for my niece's baby shower a few weeks ago. The picture distorts the color of the yarn, but it's a creamy off-white/pale yellowish with ladybug buttons. Easy pattern, & I was pleased by the way it turned out. :)

Amy's Martini Dishcloth

Definitely can't use varigated yarn for these designs..doesn't do 'em justice. Made this for Amy's kitchen in her new apartment in Boston. :)

Cody the Alpaca

In case ya didn't know....I LOVE alpaca fur!! I'm still in the process of downloading pix of our new kitty, Cosmo, or as I refer to him as, Cosmonaut & Mr. Man!! Pix soon to come.

Oh, & by-the-way, I just finished my first Fair Isle felted bad. Pix soon to.

OTN: Felted pumpkin, baby sweater, cable scarf all for craft show. Have lots to do. Pix to come!!

Groan...ANOTHER mistake!!

Groan. Having a very "off knitting week." Just keep making tons of mistakes! Ugh. I started my first intarsia project..Damask from Berroco. I've also decided to frog a tie-front cardigan made w/Bonsai because I don't like the way it's coming together. I've found a nice shell from Creative Knitting that I'll be making for next summer instead. I've also frogged a lace mohair shawl several times because I kept screwing it up! I think I need to cast on something simple for a backup & for Knit Club on Mondays nights. LOL.

I've been busy with our new adopted 4 month-old kitten "Cosmo." Being home all the time, I just love having pets..just call me Angelina Jolie!! LOL.

I'll have pix of knitting & pets/family soon.

Shelpie Sweetness

Just had to
post a few pix of my sweet shelties pups who have been my constant companions. Without them, I'd go crazy!! :p

Halter Top

Here's a bright pink halter top I made. It turned out nice, but you'll have to excuse my bra less modeling!!! LOL (I was pressed for time).

Another Felted Bag

This is a felted bag I made, but it needs some reshaped & a decorative closure yet. It's much cuter in person.

Anklet sock

Behold! Another pair of socks using Cascade Fixation (fun yarn) & also Magic Loop. These looked much better than my first pair. I was surprised how long they take to make, considering how small they are.

First Sock

TaDa!! Here's my first sock I ever made using Magic Loop. I used Addi Turbos which I just LOVE! The sock has a lot to be desired though .

Craft Show

Juliet & I will be selling some hand knit items for our local Fireman's Craft Show in October. This is one of the bags I felted. It'll make a nice lunch bag.

OTN tank top w/Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, 2nd sock w/Cascade Fixation.

1st Baby Sweater

Ok, here it is! I finally figured out how to upload on the posts, etc. (der). I've never kept a blog before. I've alway kept a written book of the yarns, works I've done. I've just recently started trying sweaters. I have a halter top I just finished, but I haven't took a picture yet. I have a long way to go to better my work, but I'll get there. :)

1st baby sweater DONE!! Whooohooo

My very first completed baby sweater! I only wish the picture did it justice. It looks so much better in person :). http://i16.tinypic.com/5z4nxio.jpg

Here I am

Welp, here I am...my very first blog. We'll see how this goes. I felt I was the only knitter in the world without one. It just seems to take up so much time--time that I could be knitting! I'm not that great of a knitter like so many others, but I'll show some of my work once I get it downloaded here
