Mohair Shawl

Here's a shot of my mohair lace
shawl that I made recently.

Stef's new hat.

Here's my sweet Stephanie modeling my latest beanie using a Cascade varigated wool! How cute!

Amy's Graduation

I normally don't go into details about the family much on this blog cuz it's meant for knitting, but I just couldn't resist posting a blurb about my daughter, Amy, who just graduated last week Magna Cum Laude from Emerson College in Boston, MA with a B.S. degree in Marketing & Communication specializing in Advertising. We're all so proud of her! Now we have our fingers crossed that she lands a job!! One of her graduation presents was to see a Red Sox game, and that we did! Another fun experience crossed off of that "Things To Do" list. LOL.

Friday, May 23, 2008

Yikes!! It's been literally months since I've posted last. My only excuse is being preoccupied with my back issue & all the legal issues surrounding it. I haven't stopped knitting either. I just finished 2 baby sweaters for Marie (longtime girlfriend from St. Luke's - her handsome bro is expecting his first baby girl in a few months). Pix to come (my cameras out of batteries).

Also, we just finished Wildwood for the twirlers. Unfortunately, Central Mountain kicked our butts (first time in 15 years that our girls didn't hold the championship. Stef did win the Most Outstanding Twirler Award. I did get a chance to get to the Alpaca Farm in Cape May, NJ while I was there....love that place.

Additionally, we just returned from Boston after attending Amy's (my oldest) graduation from Emerson College (Magna Cum Laude). Our truck got towed while we were unloading stuff into her apartment, then the truck died the night before graduation and it cost $1,000 to fix. We made it home, luckily, & it died again completely!! Not a fun time in Boston, but Amy has graduated & does have a job interview in NYC next Friday for a huge advertising company. GO AMZ!! Kick butt!!

At any rate, pix are a-comin'. I've also been working on my Mom & Dad's throw, sox, scarves, & I have a request for a shrug & a puppy outfit! So, I'm a busy bee. I'll post again soon, I promise!

Cascade Aran Cable hat

Here's my current creation, the Cascade Cable hat using Aran varigated wool. It's pretty, but a little scratchy. I should've used it to felt with, I'd bet it'd turn out beautiful. Anyhow, I need a hat, & these colors will go with both my winter coats. I'll be moving on to finish my Mom's sweater using Kraemer's Summit Hill. Knit On!!

Jasper Finglerless MItten

Here're a couple pix of my newly finished fingerless gloves using Berroco's Jasper from the book "The Knitter's Bible - Knitted Accessories." They're super, warm, soft, & fluffy, although the pattern was written a bit tricky. I even had to seek out a bit of professional advice from Pat @ Knitwitz, but she got me on track, & here they are!!

Noro Fingerless Gloves

I completely forgot to show my Noro fingerless gloves made with Silk Garden. A wee bit scratchy @ first, but once washed, they were much softer. Cute, eh?

New Knit Group

Okay, so Juliet & I have been going to knitting classes & Stitch n'Bitches @ Knit Witz & Sew Much More in Hellertown. What a great bunch of women. They're great knitters & give us much inspiration, not to mention everyone has varied interests & professions. Plus they do $1 shots LMAO!!! Who could ask for a better bunch of knitting buddies. They've been very welcoming, & we're having a blast!!

ONT: cable hat w/Cascade Aran (pink/tan); 2nd fingerless glove with a flap (using Berroco Jasper).

Stef's leg warmers

And here they are....Stef's leg warmers!! They're a lot nicer up close & personal. Made out of worsted superwash wool from Kraemer's in Nazareth.

Amy's cable hat!!

Here's the cable hat I made for Amy for those cold, blustery days in Boston. I used Rowan Classic Cashsoft Aran...gorgeous yarn. Silky soft, & WARM. Best of all, it fits Amy like a glove, or should I say...."hat." LOL.

I'm Baaaaaack!!

'Elllloooooo Popet!! Aye!! Okay, so I'm a little bit saturated with "Pirates 3" since that's all I've been doing since my back surgery. I'm back in the saddle, or should I say, back on the needles?! LOL. Surgery didn't go very well. Time will tell, I suppose, but I'm back to knitting again, YAY. OTN: Finally done with Stef's leg warmers for Twriling; cable stitch hat for Amy using RYC Aran in a beautiful cream color (gets cold up there in Boston, & the kid doesn't have a hat!!). Also, just bought & received my first skein of Lorna's Laces. Has to be the most gorgeous yarn I've come across so far (as far as washable wool goes anyway). I ordered Black Pearl...duh!! Simply gorgeous. Pix to come soon, I promise.
